Get to know county’s Health Department! In Kitsap County, you are required to have an O&M contract with a licensed septic specialist. You will need yearly inspections to ensure the health of your system. You can find a list of licensed contractors here: https://www.kitsappublichealth.org/dwos/contractors
You should always check this list before hiring someone to maintain, service/repair, or install your system.

Kitsap County Lookup Tool
Curious about your house’s septic? You can look up your own records!
Steps:
- Click on the ‘Lookup Tool’ button above.
- On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the lookup tool. Default is ‘Address’. Scroll down, and type in your address.
- Click the ‘Search’ button.
- To the right, click on ‘Septic Reports’.
- Now you’ll see a screen with all of your house’s information. On the Left, there are some options:
● On ‘Site Details’ you will see, at the top of the screen, your septic system type next to ‘General System Type’
● ‘Contracts’ is your Operations and Maintenance history (O&M)
● ‘Service History’ shows everyone who have serviced your system, as well as all of the reports on the inspection reports.
